Called to Create for our Creator
Our Story
The LeGrant Theatre Company, founded in 2026, has its roots in a small acting studio in Los Angeles, California, in the 1990s, where David LeGrant taught young artists how to fully transform into any character placed in front of them. Former LeGrant students Eric and Amy Schumacher moved back to the Twin Cities and raised two girls who loved the theatre. As daughters Jaylin and Kylie grew up and kept pursuing performance, Amy and Eric passed on to them the techniques and principles that LeGrant taught them in his studio.
Today, The LeGrant Theatre Company is a family dream come to life that pays tribute to the incredible wisdom, creativity, and theatrical vision that David LeGrant passed on to all of his students. The company seeks to tell stories of engaging characters, train and coach professional actors to transform on stage and screen, and bring audiences together to experience the magic of theatre and story.
Behind the Curtain
-
The LeGrant Theatre Company is a family-owned theatre dedicated to providing the Twin Cities with high-quality productions and training for theatre artists to grow as performers and creatives.
-
At The LeGrant Theatre Company, we believe that bringing the human condition to life on stage allows us to connect more deeply to the stories of others and our Creator. Our vision is to tell stories that unite audiences, tell powerful stories of redemption, hope, and joy, and to create work that is excellent.

Storytelling reveals truth
Telling stories, especially through theatre, reveals the truth about the human condition. This truth has the power to resonate with and serve an audience.
Everyone has a story that deserves to be told
Every person has a unique story to share and be told, and choosing to hear or tell someone's story creates shared understanding, appreciation, and value.
Beauty can come out of brokenness
People can turn destruction and brokenness into something beautiful. Telling a story of struggle and hardship can bring restoration and healing to others and within.
Creativity begins with experimentation
Everyone can be creative through trial and error. Life is filled with fun, messy, and beautiful things that can all be explored and used to convey a story.
